PAUL SURPRISE!!!

Paul surprised me by showing up at my house in Florida yesterday afternoon!!! I was shocked to see him walk in the door...so shocked that I proceeded to yell "omigod!" and bury myself in the "eta" of his Zeta sweatshirt for the next 5 minutes. Crying, a lot. Six weeks is a long time, and surprises make me even more emotional, of course. So much happiness in my heart.

I threw around the idea of him flying down after thanksgiving and driving up north with us for the last leg of our tour a couple weeks ago but he quickly dismissed the idea and so did I. He had class on Monday- so it made sense that he couldn't do it. When my mom said my cousin was coming into town Friday afternoon, no bells rang. Everything was so well coordinated on the Florida end. My mom and my aunt making plans on where they will take said cousin for dinner, what time her flight gets in, etc. Even my aunt in Israel called in and made sure to mention the visiting cousin. Such great lengths to hide the truth! PAUL! I can't believe they fooled me so well. My family is very sneaky!
...And to think just the night before (a mere 3 hours before his plane took off) I was distraught and upset over the phone because I didn't think I was going to be seeing him enough when I get back.
Case in point- my boyfriend is the BEST ever!!!!

Guest Post by Moose

Cap Ou Pas Cap?

A couple of nights ago, at a shady Super 8 Motel outside of Houston, we decided to watch a French movie called “Love Me if You Dare”. This particular film is one of my favorites, but some of you may not have heard of it since it’s in a foreign language. Anyway, the movie is all about 2 childhood friends who play a game of “dare” which represents how they fall in love blah blah blah. Since it was French, Danit, Nicole and I decided we should drink wine while we watched. By the end of the movie there was some tipsiness going on.

Now, the day before I was suckered into purchasing fake snow from an Israeli salesman at the mall. This fake snow is awesome because it starts off as a teaspoon of powder, and when added to water, grows exponentially. Since the mall was almost closed when I bought this fake snow, the salesman (who by the way was the best salesman ever. I’m convinced he could have been selling dog crap and people would be lining up to buy some.) gave us a bag of the demo snow that they had been using all day. That led to trouble.

After watching the movie, Danit poured some fake snow on her head, and it was suggested that we bring some fake snow to the other (British) guys rooms. After knocking on their doors for a few minutes with no answer (it was 11:30 PM), we decided to spread some snow at their doors, as well as painting a snowy peace sign on the hood of their car. Then the trouble happened.

Danit decided to make signs in snow outside of the guys doors saying “Hi” and “Hey”. After only writing “He”, Danit was caught by the “owner” of the hotel while Nicole and I watched. He started yelling about “his property” and “putting shit everywhere”. He threatened to kick us out of the hotel if we didn’t clean it up. Meanwhile, Danit tried to calmly tell him we’d pick it up, but he kept screaming. Good owner there, yelling while your guests are sleeping. Anyways, he finally went away, leaving his security guard to supervise. We swept up the snow, while I stared at the guard in stony silence.

Afterwards, in Danit’s room, I came up with various revenge plans for the owner’s overreaction, ranging from making fake complaint calls about rats in the room to putting up the hotel’s phone number on the Craigslist casual encounters section. I was eventually convinced to hold off at least until the morning. Luckily I wouldn’t have to wait that long.

After I had returned to my bedroom to retire for the night, I received a call from Nicole. Apparently she had discovered a giant cockroach in her bathroom. I was initially skeptical, as I had just discussed a similar plan to make the hotel look bad. She sounded serious though, so I headed down to her room to check it out. In her bathroom, I found the biggest, most disgusting cockroach I’d ever seen lying on it’s back next to her toilet. Realizing my chance, I scooped the mutant freak cockroach into a cup and headed outside. I walked past the security guard who originally snitched us out, making a sassy comment to him along the way. In the office, I waited for the owner to come out from the back. As soon as he came through the door. I slammed the roachcup on the counter, said “This was in my bathroom. Classy.”, then turned and walked back out the door up to my room. It was a very satisfying moment for me.

So I learned that you shouldn’t freak out about fake snow when you have gargantuan death roaches storming around the bathrooms.

I'm beat.

I'm so worn out. I don't know what's wrong with me but I am incredibly tired all the time lately and I can't do anything more than pass out on the couch and go online most nights. Hell, I'm even too lazy to get up and get my food right now.
The weird thing is that I do get enough sleep, I've been getting about 7-9 hours a night throughout the tour which is really great for me! But I'm still sooo exhausted all the time. Maybe I'm just ready for the tour to be over. I know I'm sure as hell ready to be in Boston and see my boyfriend already.

Anyways, enough whining for me. Mike, Nicole and I got some wine tonight and made plans to watch a french movie together tonight. Then in the morning we head to New Orleans! I'm excited about that. :)

Hooters or Waffle House??

Moose has certain restaurants that he demands we visit before the trip ends. One was iHop...I don't like ihop. But I went, because I'm a nice person. Now he brought up Waffle House AND Hooters! I told him we could only go to either or. I think I prefer Hooters (I'd get a cheese quesadilla, the only vegetarian option). But I thought this would be a good opportunity for a blog poll.

So please, if you read this post...whoever you are...COMMENT! I want everyone's input before I make a big decision like this...

PHOENIX IS HOT.

IT WAS 97 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON!
Needless to say, our pants were put back into our suitcases and replaced with skirts and shorts. Moose wears the skirts.

Arizona, phoenix in particular, is exactly what it's cracked up to be. Hot, sweaty, waterless, and home to a cactus on every corner. Moose and I have taken the opportunity to explore area walmarts on our free evenings. I am officially the most awesome person ever for making the best buy of LIFE the other day, for only $20.17. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you-

Danit's $20 Wal Mart Shopping Spree Bonanza of Life
(I couldn't think of a better name, leave me alone)

- bikini top ($2.50, for my day off)
- bikini bottom ($1.50, for day off)
- "Look Who's Talking" on DVD ($5)
- All-Bran Crackers ($3)
- Laughing Cow Cheese ($3)
- Two Bottles of Vitamin Water ($3)
(and then there's taxes)

AMAZING, right??

Anyways, enjoy super Phoenix photos:

Blah Blah Blah

You know what's REALLY shitty??
...having both of your bosses forget to book you a hotel to stay at in Phoenix and then not return your phone call.

You know what's REALLY cool??
...losing an hour and then gaining an hour- all in the same day! Thanks to daylight savings and time zone changes.

You know what's REALLY comfortable??
...the bed at this Holiday Inn Express.

Good night!

**SAN DIEGO!**

San Diego is gorgeous! The people down here are really laid back and cool. All our cities from here on out are going to be nice and sunny so that'll be a nice change. Though I had to wear a sweatshirt at the beach today cause the breeze made it chilly. That's okay, less tan lines.

We got to work on the boardwalk at Mission Beach, it was beautiful.

Why hello there sun and palm trees! You KNOW where I'm going on my day off tomorrow.

Flowers and kisses.

****
You should watch this whole video. It's fun old people skating to Gnarles Barkley. And it even has a little bit of a gay Moose sprinkled into it!

Los Angeles : Halloween Time

Dear Los Angeles,

I am sorry for hating you for so long. I really shouldn't have judged you like that. I mean, I'll admit, I'm not totally head over heals for you but you are pretty cool. Let's be honest though, you're really over-rated. Did you know you have a lot in common with Miami and a lot of the other major cities i've been in. You aren't very pretty and you're really smoggy. But all in all, you're more down to earth than I thought you'd be and you remind me a lot of my home state - perhaps she's your fraternal twin with the healthier lifestyle - Florida. It was nice seeing you and all my lovely friends that reside with you.
Anyways, just wanted to apologize and let you know that I'm sure we'll reunite quite shortly and that I don't hate you anymore.

Love ya,
Danit

Artsy arrival.

The Grove - good shopping and better food, so you know I loved it.

Lisa and Lulu, so cute.

EARTHQUAKE!!!

ALSO! THERE WAS AN EARTHQUAKE TODAY!!

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20071030.wcalifquake1031/BNStory/International/home?cid=al_gam_mostview

We were in a souvenier store at Fisherman's Wharf when it happened and the shelf with all the souveniers started shaking pretty badly. I just stared at it because I thought someone had shaken it but couldn't understand how someone had shaken such a large set of shelves! I was so consumed with that thought that I apparently didn't even notice the vibrations on the ground. What are the chances of an earthquake hitting here on the one day we have in town?? I know I make it sound like the coolest thing ever, but it was kind of neat - I just wish I'd realized it was an earthquake while it was happening!

Seattle Day Off and Speeding Tickets

Seattle Day Off Purchases
-makeup
-2 books (both about class issues and homelessness)
-lunch and wine at the Cheesecake factory
-sassy knee-high boots

All in all a very successful day. Though I can't really afford all that stuff since we are still awaiting our first paycheck. But that's okay, yeah day off!

So Moose and I have both gotten speeding tickets this week - in Idaho and California respectively. Moose was only going 9 miles over and I was going 14 over - what can I say, we are wild childs. The only funny thing about it is that when the cop pulled me over, he spotted a very real looking decapitated finger that Moose's cousin made at Horror MakeUp College. We had it in a compartment near the door handle and the cop just goes, "is that a finger??" It was awesome, quite the bonding moment with Mr.California cop. Too bad the ticket was already written by then.

San francisco is LOVELY of course! Moose, Nicole, and I had dinner at the Hard Rock and then took the long way home through the hilly streets of San Fran...it's kind of like a rollercoaster so you know I loved it. Tomorrow we are off to Los Angeles for Halloween night!!

ON THE ROAD: a photo entry

South Dakota is so boring.

We learn Italian. Tanto Piachere! (nice to meet you)

A driving Moose!

I get bored sometimes, so I do this.

A sleeping Moose!

Mt. Rushmore (note: we didn't want to pay for parking so we had to pull over on the side of the road and zoom way in to get this picture. I was satisfied with it.)

Yea, we were kinda far...

Milestone mile counting!

Tractor on street.

And last but not least, we had so much fun driving in Montana that I just had to share it with YouTube:

The Mothership!

Nokia Flagship Store: Chicago, IL.
Good times!

Oh my do I love the Mall of America. Now if only they had an apartment building attached to the place...then I might just consider moving to Bloomington, Minnesota. They have a roller coaster - and its such a good one! And a Peanut Butter cafe with 10 different types of peanut butter. Simply heavenly. Legoland and an aquarium too! We didn't get past the second floor but we still milked our 4 hours at the mall today.

Go Red Sox!

Go sleep!

Chicago (day off)

Our rooms in Chicago are amazing!! I'll try to take some photos tonight to capture the awesomeness of them.

Today was good. I got to see Lindsay, who I haven't seen for over a year now and have absolutely missed so much. We went to brunch with Moose and Dusty. We spent the rest of the day hanging out (okay so we snuck in a little nap, but shh). It was lovely!
Now I'm back at the hotel watching The Wedding Planner. I love this movie.

Moose makes fun of me, and I make fun of him. Maybe you can help us settle who is more of a loser...

Moose: Spent the day driving 2.5 hours to Grand Rapids, Michigan to meet up with his internet buddies. Yes, the friends he met online through his video games. Oh World of Warcraft. I know what you're thinking...don't go on Danit, it's settled, Moose is the bigger loser. But just for humor-

Me: I love The Wedding Planner. I love Jennifer Lopez. Okay so maybe I try to model myself after her character in this movie sometimes. But how can I help it?! She's so put together, organized, and beautiful and we have similar hair in this movie. Is it really that bad that I kinda wanna BE her?

What do you think?

Downtown Baltimore

I hate this city. Please look to your right and click on the link to Moose's blog because he really explains the hotel situation well in his latest entry. Blah.
Anyways-

Today we went to the supermarket to get peanut butter for dinner sandwiches, and it was scary and gross.

This is me at the inner harbor- the single nice-looking and fun place to hang out at in Baltimore.

I stopped by the Hard Rock Cafe too. For those of you who don't know I have quite an extensive collection of guitar pins from around the country and around the world (hey whats up castle program). I like to get pins that represent my experience in the city and what I liked most about it. For Baltimore, I got a plain purple guitar pin. Cause there were only like 3 choices - a butterfly guitar, a purple guitar, and a crab guitar. And I didn't see any pretty butterflies or see/eat crabs. AND I don't like the color purple. So I figured it'd be appropriate.

Can't wait til Chicago!

The Baltimore Quality Inn = HELL ON EARTH

It's 2am and I am literally scared to sleep. Thank God I have to share a room with Nicole in this shithole or else I'd really be scared. I don't even know how to explain the shadiness that is the Quality Inn in Baltimore. So I won't. Instead, why don't you enjoy these pretty pictures that prove how awesome of a photographer Paul is. They still need to be touched up a little bit to make some of the colors brighter and sharper, and then they will magically look 200% better than they already are!
But this is what I've got for now-

Tell me which you like best. Now time to put on my headphones, catch up on Grey's Anatomy, and dread sleeping here. AWESOME!

*Boston*

Boston. I mean, where do I really start when discussing Boston? It's weird because I am here for work but I think this ended up being one of my favorite trips to Boston in the past year. I'm not really going to talk about work in this post because, I mean, work gets redundant- and Boston had funner things involved! Like:

a) Sunday Day - We drove to Boston Saturday night so that we can have Sunday, our "travel day", off. Paul and I made great use of the day by visiting Apple Orchards in North Andover and going apple picking!! It was my first time and I had so much fun. We got a ton of apples (more about those later). Then we stopped by the farmers market and got some apple cider and an apple cider donut (omgsodelicious)! I love walking around in the fall and the area we were in was especially gorgeous.

b) Sunday Night - Moose and I got a handful of Zetas to come back to the hotel with us and held a little party. I made white Sangria (Savignon Blanc, Triple Sec, Apple Strawberry Kiwi juice, tons of cut up fruits, and lots of love!

c) Monday - Worked and then cooked dinner with Moose and Paul. Potatoes? Pasta? Brocolli and Cheese? YAY

d) Tuesday - My first day off, and so glad it came in Boston! Paul and I went into the woods and to shoot some photos for his photo project. It's about he elements and I'm representing earth. And earth is supposed to represent sensuality and sexiness and stuff (he did his research on wikipedia, so legit). It came out AMAZZZZING. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Or maybe later tonight... Then we made apple crisp and devoured it with Moose and Thom- spectaculariffic!

Day 2: Rittenhouse Square & More, Philadelphia, PA.

The city of brotherly love, in photos:

@ "LOVE Park" , where we found many tourists and skater punk kids

"No Skateboarding" That doesn't apply to Segways, I mean, it doesn't say "no segways". Just in case, Moose alters the sign.

Daniel (our local helper) "pushes" over a domino onto a terrified moose. Ouch.
BTW- Did you know that Daniel is 37 and has 5 kids?? We thought it was 25 up until today.

We don't always run around taking super touristy photos. Look at how professional I look as I show this guy our awesome phones!

GO TEAM!

Chuck E. Cheese Photos to come...
It. was. awesome.

Day 1: Rittenhouse Square Philadelphia, PA.

I'm pretty much used to riding the Segways! They're SO odd. I got stuck going in fast circles around Rittenhouse Square because I couldn't get the damn thing to stop at some point. Turns out I accidently started going to fast and when you do that it flips out on you, so I just flipped out right back at it. Just imagine me speeding in large circles on a Segway yelling, "FUCK! I'm going to fall! It's not listening to me! Damn it!!!"
And Moose: "hahahhahaha"
Me: "You ASSHOLE, HELP ME!"

Once I got the hang of it things were cool though. Especially the weather, cool to the point where we were really freezing our asses off and had to make a completely necessary pit stop at Dunkin Donuts to grab a couple hot chocolates. I feel like that is going to happen more often from here on out. They hooked us up with all these new clothes but the Nokia winter jackets and beanies aren't in yet and I really hope they get in soon.

Funny thing- we are working with two British guys and they keep making fun of Americans because we have to get our days off
(legally, labor laws) and we have such strict rules about work hours. Apparently over in the UK people just work, A LOT. Like one of the guys is supposed to have a day off tomorrow and he's like, "eh, I'll just work". I don't get it... Day off!! Go play on the streets of Philly, find Will Smith, play some B-ball outside of the school!

We have decided to really skimp on unnecessary spending of money, at least til we get a few paychecks. So we hit up a grocery store and a Target and got food/drinks to hold the both of us over for the next 2.5 days or so- for $35 combined! :)

I think tomorrow we will spoil ourselves and go to Chuck E. Cheeses for dinner and fun times. Because that's how we roll. Moose will probably look like a creepo walking around there without any children in tow. It'll be fun for me to watch.

Anyways, we are getting updates schedules tomorrow so I will have to hold back on posting any specific trip itineraries and maps until then. But for now, here we are on day 1...so young and naive.

We're awesome.

What's up random T-Mobile guy who kinda maybe looks a little like Thom...

Okay now it's sleepy time.

Here we go...

Welcome friends! I have decided to follow in Moose's footsteps and create a blog to document the next 7 weeks of our lives. We have been hired to work a promotion for Nokia's new set of phones that focus on music. They're all pretty sweet and we're really excited. We are currently chiling out at our first stop on the trip: Philadelphia, PA (okay, so they put us in cherry hill, nj...but we'll work in philly tomorrow).

So far, we have been through a training on the phones and how to use the segways (I am still struggling with both!) but I think it will take some time until everything sinks in. We will basically be traveling across the perimeter of the country and stopping in 10 different cities to ride around in segways and tell people about the cool phones. Speaking of cool phones, we each got one for the duration of the tour and I am officially obsessed with mine (nokia n-series n95) because it's incredible! Anyways, stay tuned for a map of our route.

I'm debating wether or not to make this more of a writing based blog or a photo blog. I guess I can settle on something in between, but we shall see. Enjoy these photos for now though! And cross your fingers because tomorrow is our first official day out in downtown philly and the last thing I need is to fall of a frickin segway!

Moose, Me, and the Van of Love

Moose rockin the Segway in the Days Inn parking lot!

Taking advantage of the shady fitness center. Lets hope I can keep this going throughout the tour!

Stay tuned for more blogging, photos, and a map!
