We were in a souvenier store at Fisherman's Wharf when it happened and the shelf with all the souveniers started shaking pretty badly. I just stared at it because I thought someone had shaken it but couldn't understand how someone had shaken such a large set of shelves! I was so consumed with that thought that I apparently didn't even notice the vibrations on the ground. What are the chances of an earthquake hitting here on the one day we have in town?? I know I make it sound like the coolest thing ever, but it was kind of neat - I just wish I'd realized it was an earthquake while it was happening!

Soon I wil be tooling around this city on a Segway shilling Nokia stuff. How come ya'll get to wear jeans? We have to wear black pants. But Kat said we can wear "trainers." Which is just British for sneakers, but somehow makes it sound oddly cooler.
